Greek translator and logistics officer, Volunteer

About the role

Under the supervision of the Operations Coordinator, the Logistics Officer will undertake and monitor the logistic work associated with Fenix’s operations, ensuring that all logistic matters are dealt with in accordance with the organizational standards and policies. Besides, the translator will be responsible to provide written translation and oral interpretation, working in close collaboration with the legal, protection, mental health team, development and administrative team. The translator is also required to accompany Fenix member and clients to public and private offices when necessary.

  • Office management and maintenance, including organization’s resources (cars, volunteer houses, etc.)
  • Identify and assist with administrative, logistic, and material needs
  • Ensure positive supplier and vendor relationships
  • Written translation and in person interpretation from Greek to English and vice versa.
  • All Fenix team members must comply with the values and principles outlined in the Fenix code of conduct and Policies

About Fenix Aid

Fenix – Humanitarian Legal Aid is a US non-profit organization and Greek MKO, federally registered with Greece’s Ministry of Migration and Asylum.

Our multidisciplinary team of lawyers, protection officers, legal assistants, translators, psychologists and experts from different academic backgrounds, provides legal aid, protection and psychosocial services to refugees and asylum seekers on Lesvos, while advocating for a more just and equitable asylum system.

What you’ll need

  • Previous experience in the humanitarian field is an asset
  • High command of spoken and written English
  • Greek (C1/C2)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Passion for human rights
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Driving license is an asset
