About Fenix

Fenix – Humanitarian Legal Aid is a US non-profit organization and Greek MKO, federally registered with Greece’s Ministry of Migration and Asylum.

Our multidisciplinary team of lawyers, protection officers, legal assistants, translators, psychologists and experts from different academic backgrounds, provides legal aid, protection and psychosocial services to refugees and asylum seekers on Lesvos, while advocating for a more just and equitable asylum system.

About the role

Fenix’s Program team is working in the background to ensure that we make the impact we are intending to make, that we are accountable to our service users and donors and to increase the organisation’s sustainability. The Program Officer will work across our three Programs to:

  • Support the implementation of activities part of our Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) Framework, such as designing and conducting surveys, analysing program data, identifying areas for improvement
  • Share the impact of our work via our communication channels, including social media, newsletters and our website
  • Support the drafting of quarterly impact reports and ensure timely reporting for ongoing grants
  • Seek funding through grant applications as well as fundraising campaigns
  • Assess training needs and source training for the teams

What we are looking for

  • A person who enjoys independent working, as well as being part of a team
  • Excellent creative, communication, and organisation skills, with attention to detail
  • A degree in a relevant field
  • Experience with monitoring and evaluation of projects
  • Experience with handling communication channels
  • Experience in fundraising strategies, grant writing and reporting
  • Strong professional ethics
  • Ability to work under pressure and coordinate multiple tasks
  • Fluency in written and spoken English. Good spoken command of French, Farsi/Dari, Arabic, Somali or Greek are a strong asset
  • Good computer skills (excel, canva, Google analytics, webflow, AirTable)
