Anthi Papadimatou

Protection Officer, Protection Team
🇬🇷 Greek

After I finished master studies in Athens, I decided to go to Romania and volunteer with European Solidarity Corps for more than one year. There I realized the importance of working with vulnerable communities and I decided to be involved in the humanitarian field. Since I came back from Romania, I have been working in the refugee field in Greece in various organizations, mostly focused in Protection services. The interdisciplinary and holistic approach, alongside with the emphasis on a strong advocacy strategy is what drove me to work with Fenix, since I consider that advocating for structural changes in one of the most vital and important aspects of the humanitarian work in Lesvos. I hold a BA in Political Science and a MA in Social Theory and Social Research from the University of Athens and I am currently pursuing a second MA in Gender Studies at the University of Aegean.
