After graduating from my B.A. in International Communication (Hogeschool Utrecht, NL), I am currently pursuing a degree in Social Work (EH Freiburg, GER). Previously, I have organised a safe space for women iin a camp for asylum seekers in Northern Greece and worked at a Youth Migration Service in Germany.
I think in social work there's the risk of putting such a strong focus on solely enhancing individuals' living conditions, that at the end one rather cushions social injustice than tackle its roots - and thereby act like just another cog that keeps an unjust, oppressive social system running. That's why investigating and addressing problematic causes and political procedures, spreading awareness and thereby advocating for change is key. For this reason, I was drawn to Fenix: In my eyes their different programs bring together both of these important aspects in a professional and balanced way.
