I completed a Bachelor's in International Relations and Politics at Amsterdam University College, as well as a Minor in Global Migration from the University of Amsterdam. Since 2018, I have been active in the field of humanitarian aid, supporting people seeking asylum both in Greece and Amsterdam.
As my family is from the island of Lesvos, I have witnessed what is often referred to as Europe's 'Refugee Crisis' develop for as long as I can remember. I have always been driven to work in this setting, in order to contribute to a more just asylum system. I chose to work with Fenix specifically, because I feel like their approach to legal aid, including protection work and mental health support is critical in addressing the needs of those seeking asylum in Greece. Moreover, the advocacy work that Fenix does is very important to me, as I think that humanitarian organizations should utilize their platform to address the injustices they witness.
