I have been involved in working and volunteering for organisations all over the world for more than 15 years, focused on a range of issues like trafficking in persons, child rights, migration, feminist activism, legal aid and labour rights, because I truly believe we have an obligation to resist oppressive systems and support the rights of all people! I have my LLB in international and European law and my LLM in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice.

I love the commitment of the Fenix team, especially those who have given so much of their time and resources voluntarily to bring this organisation and its mission to life.

In early 2020 when experiencing the first lockdown of the COVID-19 pandemic, I decided I wanted to use my time to volunteer remotely for groups who were supporting people in extremely challenging situations. This decision led me to the amazing work of Fenix Humanitarian Legal Aid where I have been actively providing organisational development support. I first visited Lesvos in July - September 2020 and ran a baseline research on the work of Fenix that later fed into the development of the MEAL-system. I continue to (remotely) support in the fundraising and grant-writing efforts. While carrying out the baseline research, I heard first hand from so many of Fenix's clients why holistic legal aid is vital to safeguarding people's rights and observed how Fortress Europe was violently oppressing people on the move. I love the commitment of the Fenix team, especially those who have given so much of their time and resources voluntarily to bring this organisation and its mission to life. I continue to support Fenix remotely from Amsterdam, where I work in the NGO sector, supporting many different kinds of activists and human rights groups.
