I gained my law degree and Masters degree from University College Cork in Cork, Ireland. I went on to be admitted to the bar of British Columbia in 2017, and I spent over three years practising law in Vancouver, Canada. I have also been called to the bar of New York State, and have completed pro bono legal work in the areas of immigration law and residential tenancy law.
I first came to Lesvos during 2021 to volunteer at Mavrovouni camp supporting asylum seekers' day-to-day needs. During my time there I learned about Fenix and its mission, and I applied to join Fenix so I could utilise my legal background to support asylum seekers navigating the asylum process. I am proud to work with an organisation that uses a person-centred approach in a system that is challenging and often inhumane. I believe that system change can be achieved through advocacy efforts and by bringing awareness to issues faced by asylum seekers seeking to enter the European Union today.
