About Fenix

Fenix’s vision is that every person who has been forced to flee has real and dignified access to the right to asylum. Our mission consists of interconnected projects, aimed at positively impacting the cases of people who seek safety, other actors providing support to asylum seekers, and the Greek and European asylum systems at large. All our work is underpinned by our holistic philosophy, providing tools for empowerment with an integrated, trauma-informed and person-centred approach that considers the general well-being, needs, skills and hopes of individuals in their search for safety.

About the role

Fenix is a grassroots organisation working with small, passionate and mixed team of professionals. Our mission is big, and we are looking for a dynamic person who is eager to be part of this by undertaking a wide range of responsibilities. This role will be an integral role to all our projects,

List to be finetuned based on your background and skills, but can include:

  • Conducting research on countries of origin and legal submissions for clients who are being represented by our Greek legal team
  • Drafting advocacy pieces based on our human rights monitoring activities
  • Provide operational and logistics support - ensuring spaces are safe, welcoming and supplied, help with administrative and compliance tasks
  • Support with communications - creating social media posts, drafting newsletters, creating content, updating our website
  • Undertake fundraising responsibilities, such as drafting grant applications, set up fundraisers, support with reporting
  • Analyse impact based on our existing monitoring and evaluation tools.
  • Take a supportive role for our sessions in camp, such as doing outreach, answering non-legal questions, providing a welcoming environment.
  • Help with updating organisational policies and strategic documents.

Fenix prides itself for always adapting to the changing context and needs, and tasks may change during the time of the agreement.

What we are looking for

  • Skills in communications / advocacy / social work / fundraising / operations / logistics / legal work, and willingness gain expertise in other areas. Understanding of asylum processes and the EU Pact on Migration is an asset.
  • A dynamic person who is eager to jump in where the needs are.
  • A positive, independent, and adaptable individual who thrives in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in diverse, cross-cultural settings.
  • Experience working with people on the move.
  • The ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in an additional relevant language (such as French, Arabic, Farsi/Dari, Somali, or Greek) is highly desirable.
  • A team player who is willing to take on additional responsibilities that come with working in a grassroots organization.
  • The ability to self-sponsor their stay.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive.
  • The right to reside and work in the EU—unfortunately, we are unable to sponsor visa applications.
